Coliseum in Rome

Is the largest and most important amphitheatre in ancient Rome and the symbol of the imperial city and its power. It was built in the 1st century at the eastern point of the Roman Forum.
With a seating capacity for 50,000, it was used for the gladiator fights and the other events that the people loved, like enacting battles and hunting scenes.
Together with the entire historic centre of Rome, the Coliseum is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
